About 30% to 50% of baby are still adopt a head up position until 2nd trimester, but then turn naturally to adopt the best position for labor. And 3% to 5% of baby will not turn to the end. How are breech babies lie? There are complete breech, transverse and oblique presentation. Breech babies can be in one of three positions: a "complete" or flexed, breech when both feet are crossed and the bottom sits in the pelvis; and "extended" or frank, breech when the baby's hips are flexed, with the knees extended and feet by the head; or a "footling" breech, when one or both hips are extended and the feet are below the baby's bottom.
You may not get those detail of the baby's posture from doctor unless you are scheduling ECV (external cephalic version) .
There are actually many baby's posture as mentioned the above, but it is right that you will try to turn your baby's head down in case your baby is not in head down position.

It it thought that the reason of breech baby is spontaneous version is hampered, it medically may include low-lying placenta, pelvis is smaller than usual...etc. But many breech baby are not actually applicable to those medical reason, so the reason of breech baby is not clear in contemporary medicine, too.
Doctor or Midwife tell you that baby is inside with her/him comfortable posture. It may relate to this comfortable posture, the some of pregnant are pointed out about loop of the umbilical cord and baby is comfortable more in breech position than in head down position.

We think there are 2 pattern of breech baby if we focus on the baby's comfort. One is breech baby with having a medical point by the doctor as mentioned the bellow "Why my baby is in breech position?". The another is the case that there is no observation and point by the doctor.
We think the latter baby can be easily turn their head down than the former.
The latter baby's mother often has cold constitution, muscle tension, poor blood circulation , stress or less body flexibility, those condition could be improved by acupuncture treatment. There seem to be a baby who don't want to turn head down if it's cold lower abdomen. Also blood flow inside uterus is increased and smooth muscle of the uterus will be soften when the pregnant back and lower back tension improved. Baby will be more comfortable and active, move freedom if warm blood carried to stomach, uterus and surrounding tissue are relax by the acupuncture treatment. Most of pregnant give us feel back about the baby's active movement on the day and next day of the treatment. The possibility of turning head down increase in this time, there are many report that baby turn her dead down in case of the baby who has loop of the umbilical cord, too.

Baby turn her/his head down by a treatment soon or not is depending on mother's condition at the time and amniotic fluid volume and intrauterine environment. As an example, the latter pregnant's may has a effect earlier than former pregnant if there are 2 pregnant that first pregnant has cold constitution and chronic lower back pain, walking is hard for her; another pregnant is pointed out about loop of the umbilical cord, but the condition is only slight tension of back.
